Things to Do in Niagara Falls

Whether you are a tourist or simply a resident, there are plenty of things to do in Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is a city located on the west side of the Niagara River and overlooks Horseshoe Falls. It is one of the most famous waterfalls in the world. It is linked to the United States by the Rainbow Bridge.

Maid of the Mist boat tour

Taking a Maid of the Mist boat tour is a must do when visiting Niagara Falls. These tours offer breathtaking views of Horseshoe Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, as well as the American Falls. A Maid of the Mist tour provides passengers with a chance to take a photo of the Falls from the water’s edge.

The Maid of the Mist has been navigating the waters around Niagara Falls since 1846. Today, the fleet has two all-electric boats that can carry 600 passengers each. These vessels are equipped with an observation elevator that provides passengers with a dramatic view of the Falls.

Devil’s Hole State Park

Located just north of Niagara Falls, Devil’s Hole State Park is a beautiful park that offers spectacular views of the lower Niagara River. Known for its hiking trails and scenic overlooks, Devil’s Hole is a great destination for family picnics, fishing and other outdoor recreation.

The park has two parking areas, one of which is accessed from the southbound lane of the Robert Moses State Parkway. The other parking area is accessible from Route 104.

The Devil’s Hole trail is a moderately challenging hike. It offers spectacular views of the rapids. The trail starts in a wooded gorge. Then it follows an old railroad bed. It passes side trails that lead to the river. It is over a mile one way.
